Manhattan West Platform – Column Relocations

SCOPE:

Repositioning of platform-supporting columns involving complex load transfers  to allow for construction of new tower core foundations at track level, as part of the Manhattan West development.

Working within an existing platform structure spanning active rail lines, the team developed unique solutions that maintained structural performance of the in-use platform  while improving cost and schedule outcomes. 

OUR ROLES:

Dave Douglas was the construction engineering lead providing both engineering leadership and construction oversight in a highly constrained rail environment. Stephanie Berrios was the Engineer of Record.
